NYC romance expert, Sheree Bykovsky, (author of "The 52 Best Places to Kiss in New York City" and "The Downtown Girl's Guide to Wine") offers up her favorite sites for a kiss-fest in Gotham.
"I think New York is just as romantic as Paris or Rome," says New York romance expert, Sheree Bykovsky. "New York is a great walking city and even though the streets are often crowded you get this deeply romantic feeling of being all alone in a crowd."
Couples will find plenty of NYC sites for public displays of affection. Bykovsky recommends Bryant Park. ("The broad walks just call out for hand-in-hand strolls.") Columbia University Terrace gets another thumbs up for kiss conductivity. But Bykovsky's favorite location for city romance is not in New York City at all. "You don't get great views of New York in New York," she says. "But if you take the ferry to Memorial Park in Weehawken New York, you get one of the most gorgeous views of Manhattan-ever. It's kind of an "insider" place and my favorite Vanlentine's Day "kiss" site of all."
For more intimate encounters, Bykovsky recommends dinners at restaurants like lush Raoul's downtown (180 Prince St., 212-966-3518) and classic March in midtown (405 E 58th St., 212-754-6272) where co-owner and wine expert Joseph Scalice's intoxicating pairing of food and wine will prime your lover's lips for kisses to come.
Finally, for lovers who want to combine a sexy location with the cover of darkness plus the world's greatest music, Bykovsky recommends the standing room stalls at the Metropolitan Opera where you can do all but the dirty deed itself under cover of darkness and the overhang of the main balcony-all to the sounds of the world's most lusciously over-the-top arias.
